I am not sure what your question is... when you click the quote button you get everything in that post quoted. If you want to only quote part of the post, just select the part you want to delete... be careful not to erase the commands which are always enclosed in square brackets [ ]... I often click right next to the square bracket and press space... this opens up some room so that you don't select the [ ] and ruin the command...
If you just want to repeat what you already typed, then select the text and right click and select copy to copy, then click where you want to paste it and right click and select paste...
If this doesn't help, try to state your question better so that I can help you.

I am not sure what your question is... when you click the quote button you get everything in that post quoted.
If this doesn't help, try to state your question better so that I can help you.
lets say i want to quote one sentence in the quote of what i wrote and that you quoted and then wanted to quote two sentences in what you wrote in response i have no problem with the quote of what i said just delete what i do not what in the quote and the same with the first sentence in my quote of you same thing delete the unwanted text this i have but i want to seperate the two sentences and comment on them one then the other .
the only way i have been able to do this is to do the delete on the first sentence. and then like i did below retype what i want to quote from then on by clicking the quote botton type the text then click the end quote

and then when i'm done finish deleteing the rest that i don't want to quote which i didn't do this time so you can see what i mean

OK... I think I understand your question...
There is no need to retype something, just 'cut and paste' (this removes the text from one place and puts it somewhere else) or 'copy and paste' (this leaves the original text and puts a copy of it somewhere else), as I said above.

Depending upon how you want to quote and comment, either insert the quotes and comments in the text of the post or leave the original post intact and 'copy and paste' the text you want to quote below the original text... when you are done, delete the original text, and the post will look exactly the way you want it.
It also helps to hit the 'Preview' button to see how things will look before you submit it. If you miss some mistake, you can 'edit' the post later.
To give you an example, I will post comments on your post above. The best way to learn how to manually insert BBCode (all those [command]...[/command] things) is to edit one of your posts after you have used the buttons to create the commands.
Start with simple messages, but even the complex ones are not too hard to understand once you sort out all of the commands... just remember that there has to be a starting command and an ending command. If either is missing, the command doesn't work, and even one mistake, like leaving out a " or a / will cause the command to fail.

Man... that is one LONG sentance... you don't actually talk that long without taking a breath do you? Please add some periods and commas to split it up... it hurts my brain to try to read it. Some capital letters wouldn't hurt either!
Here, I fixed it for you! Now that doesn't hurt my brain Laughing

This I have but I want to seperate the two sentences and comment on them, one then the other .

As I said above... just 'copy and paste' or 'cut and paste' and there is no need to retype.
In this case, I quoted your original message, and then wrote my response. Then I did a 'cut and paste' to move your entire message below my message. I deleted what I didn't want, then inserted quote commands as needed as I commented on your post.

Here you did a quote, but you didn't put in the ="TurtleTruck" command so it only says 'quote', not 'TurtleTruck wrote'

Once again... some punctuation and capitals would be nice!
I hit the 'Preview' button several times to check that it looks the way I want, then hit 'Submit'
I hope this helps!

Thanks to Tankota I can now show you how to set up a quote without it actually posting as a quote so here goes:
Code:
Rocksurfer wrote:
Set up exactly like this with the quote in the middle
Then post your comment below like this
Rocksurfer wrote:
Then to start another box do this again
Then post your comment on that box here.
Hopefully you get it now.
If you did it correctly it will look like this:
Rocksurfer wrote:

Just so you know, you can manually type everything you don't need to click on the quote button. Now go test and let us know if you were successful and if you fail we'll go see what you did wrong.
Hopefully you get it now.

That is great Ron Applause very simple compared to my 'long winded' explaination... I like the 'code' command too, I didn't know about that.
Man, don't ask me what time it is, I'll tell you how to build a watch

Hey rockscrambler... let us know how this works for you and if my post helped you at all, or if it was too technical Anxious

Yeah the funny part about the code button is that I was testing it, could not figure out what it was for then Tankota came in on my test thread and pointed out what it did.
rockscrambler if you read what Turtle Truck said and what I put in the code box it should be easy to figure out how to create code. Code is a command and is what you are trying to accomplish. if you look at what is contained in the code box it will show you how to set up code to do what you are trying to do.
