I missed PVD for the 1st time since I joined the club last year, I'm hoping to not miss this year but it is still up in the air for any runs for me right now. This is an event put on by The California Association Of 4WD Clubs, Inc. you must register and pay for the event. It is well worth the price of admission to venture into our past and see the mines, ghosttowns and Charles Manson's last hang-out before he was captured and sent to jail. Lots of history in the Panamint mountain range which borders Death Valley. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but as usual right now it will be a game time decision on if I go. Here's some links with info on the area, and the directions if you need them.

I don't think I can pull this one off. My dad wants to go and may head up there if Rick or someone else from the club will be there. He really enjoyed the run last year.

Not looking like I'll be going, with work and the issues I had with the motorhome. I figured out that it was not the battery isolator but a part of the harness so I'm re-wiring that part. I also need a new tire for it and it seems that the bypass that we did took out the alt for some reason or there are further issues with the wiring. I can pick up a nice Caribou cab-over for $800. now all I need is a truck. Probably going to sell the Rockwood after I fix it.

We'll be going out Thursday or Friday morning-look for the yellow SPINNIN FOURS signs for our campsite location-usually we camp just beyond the main registration area on the right side of the graded road...

We will be leaving Thursday pm and setting up in the motorhome in case of wind or cold.
What trails are planned for Friday Morning?
What time do the runs start on Friday?
Are small fireworks OK with everyone?
broncobear,
Ted

Most Friday runs leave at 8 am. There are also runs leaving at 11 am, 2 pm and 7:40 pm.

If you can, bring firewood for campfires, and snacks to share for happy hours.

Fireworks are no problem for me, but that decision is up to CA4WDC. BLM Rangers are usually on site.

Fred is in Hawaii until Saturday. He told me that he towed his Rubicon all the way out there, rode with someone Saturday, and went home Sunday because it was raining in the morning. He never even hit the trail with the Jeep! Laughing

Somebody needs to tell him that it's just a big Samurai (that's a lot more expensive).
