Wow, looks like I missed a good weekend! So the hot rod finally went over...better than the 4runner I guess. Any damage other than cosmetic?

What trail was this on?

Only scratched the exo. We had a great time, there was only 2 breakdowns and both were easy fixes, and other than a fullsize Bronco finding out how tight the trails are, there weren't very many delays either. Marks little slip occured when he was trying to back down from the waterfall, it was one of those things that makes you scratch your head. I guess when he shifted into reverse it also caused the truck to shift and over she went. He wasn't the only flop either, I've got a bunch of pictures I'm editing.

Thanks goes out to all of the San Diego 4 Wheelers and the spread they had for dinner, it rivaled our happy hour.

It was actually pretty gentle. No damage except some small scratches on the cage. They strapped me back to all four wheels on the ground and I winched from there.

You have to love that 4.3, it was running even at that angle, I had to shut it off. Once they got me back on all fours it fired right up, with no smoke!

I was lucky (blessed?) that I flopped slowly, because I could have easily spun on my tail and ended up farther down on my lid! #-o

I would not take the 4Runner on that trail. :ouch:

This was at the top of Wrecking Ball. They call it the "last waterfall". 4 rigs in our group actually made it up the beast! I think it is the hardest trail I have done out there.

Actually, to correct Ron's account, I was not in reverse. I got into the perfect position to climb the wall and the front end started getting light so I stopped. The truck backed off just a little bit (brakes slipped, rig slipped, suspension moved?) and over I went. I was crawling as slow as I could so there was no extra energy to really send me over... It was actually pretty fun and the crowd enjoyed it!
